This is a twilight hike in the El Silencio Reserve in La Fortuna near the Arenal Volcano. The Arenal Volcano Natural History tour takes you through lush rainforest along the base of Costa Rica’s most-famous, active volcano. An experienced, bilingual naturalist guide will point out interesting plants and wildlife in the vibrant primary and secondary rainforest of the El Silencio nature reserve that skirts the Arenal Volcano National Park.
You’ll then arrive to the observation point of the volcano — this is the closest you can get to the base of the Arenal Volcano — and the perfect vantage point to take remarkable photos as the sun sets behind the volcano. 
If you’re lucky, you’ll also be able to hear or see gas and ash eruptions come out of the top of our behemoth Arenal Volcano!
